
Making a color transparent
One very useful effekt is to make a color in the movie clip or picture transparent so that tracks behind it are seen through. This is called green screening, blue screening or chroma keying. The easiest way to accomplish this in VideoCanvas is to use the Make color transparent filter.

To make a color transparent:
- First decide wether you want to do this for only a clip, or for a whole track. See Clips vs Tracks.
- Select a clip or track by clicking it in the Timeline or in the movie canvas.
- Find the filter Make color transparent in the Media Browser.
- Drag the filter to the filter node view and drop it just below the node for the clip/track. See Adding Filters.
- Select the new node that is created for the filter to see it's setting below in the attribute inspector.
- Select Color attribute to get a color well below.
- Click on the border of the color well to get the color panel
- Click on the color picker
in the color panel and then click somewhere in your clip that has the color you want to make transparent (in the green in the example above.)
There are attributes for controlling the tolerance of Hue, Saturation, Brightness and Alpha for the filter that you can adjust to get at better result.
You can chain multiple instances of the Make color transparent filter to make more colors transparent
