All Notes Off
Due to the peculiarities of MIDI architecture, sometimes MIDI notes get stuck. Click the All Notes Off button to tell UGET to send a MIDI message to your computer's synthesizer to turn off all playing notes.
Top
Quit
Click the Quit button to exit UGET immediately. All configuration options are automatically saved between sessions so you don't need to worry about saving anything. You'll simply pick up where you left off the next time you use UGET.

Pause Duration

Top
Tempo
Use this slider to select a tempo. You can choose values between 50 and 200 beats per minute.
Top
Randomization
UGET uses simple major (ionian) and minor (aeolian) scales to construct melodies. By introducing randomization, you can make the melodies less predictable. This has the effect of introducing sharps and flats into the melodies.
Top
Melody Range
Use this slider to choose how wide you'd like the melodies to be. If you choose a Perfect 5th, for example, UGET will create melodies which range from a Perfect 5th below a given root note to a Perfect 5th above.
Top
Stretch Down
When you select the Stretch Down check box, UGET will, when necessary, display notes on the fretboard one fret below the current position on the next string. For example, in 5th position, to move from an A on the 5th fret of the low E string to a C# a major third above, UGET would display the 4th fret of the A string if the Stretch Down check box is selected. Otherwise, it would display the 9th fret of the low E string.

Instrument

Ear Training Steps
You can choose how UGET presents each ear-training melody by selecting or deselecting the following checkboxes:

  2. Sing Along: Sing the melody with the computer.
  3. Sing Alone: Sing the melody against the click track only.
  4. Play First Note: UGET displays the first note of the melody.
  5. Play: Play the melody on your guitar against the click track only.
  6. Play with Computer: Play the melody on your guitar while the computer displays the melody on the fretboard and plays the melody with you.
