Using the media browser

QTSketch has media browser to make finding movie files (and image files) easier. The browser was designed to support multiple sources (such as your local hard drive, or a remote website) via plug-ins. QTSketch comes with two built-in plug-ins: Local Filesystem, for browsing files on your computer, and XML, for browsing an XML-defined structure from a remote server.

Open Media Browser

  1. From the Window menu, select Show Browser (or use the keyboard shortcut, Command-B)
  2. Select the source you want to use.
  • If you leave the Browser window open when you quit, the next time you run QTSketch the Browser window will remember, and automatically open.

Using an XML source

  1. Select XML from the sources pull-down menu.
  2. Click on the configuration button.
  3. Enter the URL of the XML file you want to use. Click Save.

Opening a Movie Sequence

  1. Select multiple movies in the browser, by Shift or Command-clicking on them.
  2. Press the button Open Selected in new window
  3. All the selected movies will be combined, and open in one window, as a single movie.
