Preferences
Words per published page
This is used to calculate the number of pages. At the top of the main view the total number of pages is simply the total number of words divided by the words per published page. In the footer of the format view the actual page number according to the printer setup is shown with the published equivolent in brackets.
Session Target
Enter the number of words you aim for in a session (i.e. the period for which the document is open). A progress bar will appear above the total word count for the document. To turn off this feature simply delete the number from the box and update the prefs again.
Total Target
Works the same way as the session target but for the entire manuscript.
Main text full auto save
Check this to have Manuscript save every character typed to disk. This is only practical for view sizes of up to about 10,000 words. Even with this feature turned off the margin and notes drawer are still auto-saved and the main view is saved whenever the mouse is clicked away from the previous text entry. All text is also saved on closing the window (or quitting Manuscript).
Speak chapters
Check this to have the title of a chapter read when it is selected.
Alphabetical category list
Check this to maintain both category and sub-category lists in alphabetical order.
Paper colour
Click to select a new paper colour for the main text. The margin colour is automatically changed to maintain a lighter shade.
